About Tanzania

Tanzania Overview

This stunning, quiet, and lovely country is located in Eastern Africa. It is bounded on the north by Uganda, on the west by Rwanda, and on the east by the Indian Ocean. Wetlands, grasslands, plains, savannahs, and dense forests make up its geography. Tanzania’s landscape includes savannahs, marshes, grassland plains, and forested woods. The temperature in the lowlands may be scorching, whilst it may be nice and temperate in the mountains. This region is home to Mt. Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak, and Lake Tanganyika, the world’s second-deepest lake.

A Tanzania safari offers exceptional game watching in a spectacular backdrop of snowcapped mountains, volcanic craters, and the Masai steppe of limitless grasslands, from the Serengeti’s famous migration to the more secluded parks. Tanzania is famous for its abundance of wildlife. Each year, tens of thousands of wildebeest, zebra, and Thompson’s gazelle migrate over the grasslands, with stunning river crossings.

Best time to visit Tanzania

Tanzania is best visited between June and July, when animal visibility is at its best. A safari in Tanzania becomes a spectacular adventure in the Serengeti National Park, which hosts the vast movement of wildebeest, with February being an ideal month to view wildebeest calving.

The Low or Green season which is from JanuaryMarch and November to December is characterized by;

  • Hot and sometimes rainy weather
  • The least packed
  • There’re many newborn animals
  • Lowest rates
  • The greenest, most spectacular scenery with the best light of the year for photography safaris

Note: There is no need to reserve too far in advance. However, the dry season is most preferable time regardless of where you would want to visit.

When touring the country, the northern circuit of national wildlife protection areas has a plethora of attractions.

More activities available on your Tanzania safari are listed below:

Bird Watching in Tarangire

Tarangire National Park is the best budget safari destination. Tarangire is a renowned bird-watching location because of its extensive ecology, which includes more than 500 known species.

The park’s Silale Swamps, which provide year-round water, are home to endangered Tanzanian birds including the ashy starling and the Yellow-collared lovebird.

The Serengeti Great Wildebeest Migration

This spectacular event takes place in the southern Serengeti during the calving season, from December to March.

Hundreds of thousands of zebras, gnus, and antelopes cross the Great Migration from the Serengeti plains in northern Tanzania to the Maasai Mara in Kenya. By June, the herds make their way into the Serengeti’s western region.

Hot Air Balloon Safari in Serengeti

For one hour, you will be flying in the air, watching the sun rise over boundless vistas that are home to innumerable wildlife as they feed on the Serengeti’s endless plains.

Given the limited quantity of balloons in the Serengeti, making a reservation early will spare you from missing out on this safari.

Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive

We strongly advise you to include Ngorongoro crater game drive in your itinerary while planning your trip to Tanzania.

This is because Ngorongoro is home to over 25,000 enormous game wildlife. It is the best destination in Africa for game viewing, so you may see the Big Five while in Ngorongoro.

Tree-Climbing Lions in Lake Manyara

A safari of its own kind you can pick while visiting Tanzania. The lions in Lake Manyara have a strange habit of lying on tree branches all day long.

The elevated view position that allows them to identify prey is considered to be the cause of this attitude, according to the experts.
